Artist Statement: 

Some of  my friends don't enjoy drawing and ask why I do. I guess they see making art as a stressful task. Well, unlike them, I view art as an escape. Making art is like getting to express yourself, but not having to explain. Art has been a huge part of my life since the time I was born. I was brought into this world from a family of artists. I grew up with two art teachers as parents, and siblings whom I share a passion for art with.Something my mother always reminds me is that it is important to speak the language of your material. In my family, I would have to say my sister is the most passionate about her art career. Even though she is younger than me, she is very involved with art. She attends camps, workshops, and takes art classes. Seeing my sister's growth not only inspires me, but motivates me. Seeing what she and other people make reminds me of what I am capable of doing, whether it's an assignment from a teacher, a  favor for friends, or  just made for  my pleasure.
